General Properties of Natural Rubber
Natural Rubber (such as shotblast and paragum) is generally good for use with water. The exceptional quality of these materials lies in their ability to resist abrasive forces and to recover from pressure. They resist vibration well in heavy machinery therefore are commonly used on low bolt loading flanges and on pipes with poor quality flanges.
Natural rubber is obtained from the latex sap of certain types of tree. Normally latex sap is produced by the Hevea Brasiliensis tree (otherwise known as the rubber tree) however there are over 2500 types of tree that are also sources of latex.
Gaskets made from natural rubber seal well in dynamic conditions and have good resistance to compression for extended periods of time without tension.
Colours Available: Red, Tan and Natural Brown
